New Year, New Me?

Happy New Year!

I hope you had an amazing new year’s day and spent a great time with your loved ones.

Me? Yes, I was working until 2 A.M. on the eve and spent some time with my family and my dog on the 1st.
And celebrated the new years twice since my bf is in another time zone. Lol

Shall we talk about the new year’s resolution?

Everyone likes to be “New Year, New Me.” and so do I.
Is it bad that people (or I) need to wait until the new year to come to set the new goals?

At least, myself, I want to believe in the energy of the new beginning of the new year.
Full of possibilities and bright 365 days.
It seems like you can cut off all the negativities happened in the past year and move forward.

What is your new year resolution?
Study another language? Choose healthy life?

Let me share mine.
(So that I can keep them here and remind myself for the rest of the year.)

I think it was easy to make goals when I was in school.
I loved studying.
Especially I enjoyed being a graduate student and committing myself in studying theories and exposing myself to the unknown academic world.

So, my goals were studying related inevitably, something like
“Graduate with 4.0 GPA” or “Get — scores on — test.”
They were quite clear ones.
It was easy for me to set those too.

And now, here I am, struggling to set the goals for this year.
And the sad thing is I think I was doing the same thing when I turned 27. Lol

BUT don’t worry (telling myself), I do have a different kind of goals now.
I have more general and broad ones,
something not number related.

This year, one of my goals is
“Take a little extra time to do everything.”
and “Live a moment at a time,” to “take good care of myself.”

I want to become a person who can make better decisions for myself,
such as healthy and eco-friendly decisions to be kind to me (and nature.)

Physically and mentally.

When you are busy with your daily routine,
you forget what is important to your life.
I was like that last year.
Busy with “waking up, going to work, coming home, and getting in the bed.”

I want to be responsible for my decisions, including the daily ones.
And that is my ultimate goal for 2019.

Simple right?
Yet, it is a basic and very important.

No need to make a huge change.
Just pay extra attention whenever you make decisions every day.

I will keep updating what change could be seen with this one.

What is your “new me resolution?”
