HEALTHY? What does that mean to you?

I am not the kind of woman who can keep doing healthy things every day.

I love sleeping in, especially this cold season,
I find joy in sleeping until I want to. I wish I could hibernate.
I enjoy fast food and sometimes get that crave for McDonald’s, pizza, and ramen.
I like drinking alcohol especially wines too.
I often think “oh I should have a big red wine tonight” after a long week.
I have some allergy to fresh fruits
(I know it’s pretty weird), so I don’t really eat fresh fruits.
I don’t hike, I don’t go to the gym (anymore),
I don’t do yoga (I’ve tried).

Yay that’s me!

But, I enjoy following all the BBG accounts on Instagram,
watching “what I eat in a day” vlog on youtube,
seeing perfect color smoothie bowls on Pinterest and pin it.

So I’ve been thinking I guess I want to try enjoying my life every day
and pay extra attention to what I put in my body.

Then, I came up to my new year’s resolution. “Be kind to myself”

Let me share what I’ve been doing recently intentionally.

Drink Hot Water

Yes, I started drinking hot water.
The first thing I put in my mouth when I woke up is hot water with fresh lemon.
You can find lots of posts about how lemon water is good for your body but I don’t really care.
I just enjoy the sourness, the scent, and hot water in the winter.
So I drink hot water over coffee every morning recently.
I even bring it to work! I put sliced ginger in my Hydro Flask and pour hot water.
I think this is healthier than hot lemon water and good for the office work.
I even have a glass of it before I go to sleep recently.

Go for jogging on weekends
I am not an athlete.
I cannot run very long but morning jogging (it is not too early) makes me feel better.
I only jog about 30 minutes and start a slow morning.
After that, I take a bath and think about what I should cook for the first meal of the day.

Pay attention to what I eat
I recently started paying a little more attention to what I eat.
For example, I started to eat nuts for my snacking and stopped eating potato chips.
I also have more tomatoes than before.
When I have a salad, I use olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and salt now.
When I cook, I use either olive oil or sesame oil.
A simple change but so far so good.

Try to drink good wines
= try not to drink cheap alcohol so that I drink less and enjoy it!
(It’s not like I drink A LOT, I just hate being a hangover and waste my precious day off.)

I enjoy these every day choices.
When I make a good decision for my body, I like myself a little more.
Sometimes, I drink too much and get a hangover,
I eat too much and feel bloated,
but I continue the routine and expand more healthy options!
And I am excited for this year.

What’s your healthy tip?
